If you find yourself anywhere near Giant City State Park in Southern Illinois, it’s worth a stop. It’s also a lovely spot for an overnight if you’re in the area for a game at Southern Illinois University, visiting family, or just looking for a place to set up camp.
March through November, enjoy horseback riding on guided trails, or pony rides for the little ones.
Be sure to check out the visitor’s center and pick up a map with trails and information about camping areas. Enjoy a 10 minute film about the park, available to watch in the center, as well as a discovery area for children.
Once you climb to the top of the observation tower, a palette of colorful treetops awaits!
May your journey be your muse,
Rachel
